As a Hackness Grange Scarborough Wedding Photographer I feel blessed to photograph weddings at this stunning location. The house is situated in 17 acres of beautiful lush woodland including sweeping hills which are encircled by the North York Moors National Park. So there are plenty of photo opportunities. Hackness Grange is a Grade 2 listed Georgian Manor House. It was previously the Hall’s dower house, constructed in the early 19th century. This elegant and timeless architecture provides fabulous backgrounds to your special wedding photographs.
History of Hackness Grange, Scarborough, are you ready?
The manor of Hackness was bestowed upon Lord Essex by Queen Elizabeth. Hackness manor was then passed onto Mr.Arthur Dakins, and later to Sir Thomas Posthomous Hoby. The manor was then sold by Sir John Sydenham in 1796 to Sir Richard Vanden Bempde Johnstone. His eldest son, Sir J Johnstone, lived at the house before it became a hotel just after World War II. The Grange has had several uses: family home, country club, hotel and wedding venue. For a more detailed history click here.
The Getting Ready Room
Every Scarborough Wedding Photographer needs a bridal party preparation room. This allows us to take some beautifully candid wedding photos as you get ready to say, ‘I do.’ Have natural and relaxed pre-wedding photographs with your attendants, including pets if you so desire, and a glass of champagne provided by Hackness Grange. The getting ready room is sizeable and offers a large hair and makeup station with free-standing long mirror, plenty of space to hang your wedding dress and veil, bridesmaid dresses or suits. What a perfect way to start your wedding day in Scarborough.

The McArthur Suite
The elegant McArthur Suite has fabulous views of the 17 acres of garden and woodland, and beyond to the Yorkshire Moors. This room is a Scarborough Wedding Photographer’s dream as there is plenty of natural light. Perfect.

The Pavilion
The Pavilion is situated on an exclusive island and only reached by an arched bridge over the lake. What a fabulous outdoor wedding venue and a unique wedding entrance. We absolutely love this and enjoy the whole wedding photography experience. Guests also love the outdoor wedding venue as the Pavilion offers a rustic vibe which complements the tranquil lake and wooded areas. There is seating available which offers clear views of the main event, your wedding! As a Scarborough wedding photographer the Pavilion offers us the chance to get stunning, intimate wedding ceremony photos whilst keeping to our natural and unobtrusive style. We want you to have truly romantic and emotive Hackness Grange wedding photos to look back on and cherish.

Evening Wedding Photography – Time for the Bride & Groom

We always go that extra step to tell your story so we offer an evening/twilight photography session. This is when we steal the bride and groom for some intimate, romantic photographs to complete your wedding day. These make stunning canvases and many of our couples choose to purchase these.
We are taking bookings for 2023-2024.
