Aykley Heads House Wedding Photographer / Ally and Mark’s Wedding photographs at Aykley Heads House, Durham & The Northumbrian Suite, Gateshead/ Wedding Photographer
The day began with bridal party preparation photos as Ally, her Maid of Honour and Bridesmaids prepared for the day ahead. The makeup artist and hair dresser were weaving their magic, this gave us plenty to photograph. Generally this takes around one and a half to two hours, the images of the bridal party getting ready always make a stunning couple of spreads in our Diamond album.
After the bridal party preparations, we relocated to Aykley Heads House, Durham to join Mark and their guests. The 18thcentury country villa provided us with many opportunities to capture heartfelt moments in this unique location.
The Registrars were fantastic as they were flexible with photography during the wedding ceremony, this meant that we were able to capture some candid photos. Working discreetly and keeping out of the way means we can still capture the key moments of the wedding ceremony without being too obtrusive. The light, bright interior coupled with the baroque stucco decoration and enriched mouldings to doors and windows of Aykley Heads House created a spectacular backdrop to the ceremony.
After the ceremony we were able to take photographs in the pretty gardens. It was extremely hot but the Bride, Ally, persevered so we were able to capture stunning photographs. Whilst Nev focused on the family groups, Clare, subtly, moved around the guests capturing natural, relaxed images. The children were delightful, and this allowed for some fun photos.
A little while later Ally and Mark greeted guests as they arrived to join in the evening celebrations. Once everyone had found their seat, the speeches and wedding reception all took place in the Northumbrian Suite. We set up the lighting as we wanted to fully illuminate the dance floor. The first dance photos have some amazing starbursts which add a little extra magic to a very special day.
