A Review of 2021

What a year it has been for wedding photographs! Lockdowns and Covid have not dampened brides’ and grooms’ enthusiasm for the weddings of 2021. They have been joyous affairs which have enabled family and friends to meet, sometimes after quite a lengthy separation. As a wedding photographer, we feel extremely privileged to have been asked to capture these very special and at times poignant moments.

We kicked off our 2021 wedding photographs with Sam and Terrelle. They tied the knot in May at Oulton Hall. This is a stunning Georgian mansion with all the beautiful fixtures and fittings you would expect.

The King’s Croft in Pontefract played host to the wedding of Andy and Rachel. The Wedding Pavilion boasts open countryside views which is great for bringing the outside in.

We visited Raven Hall in July to celebrate the wedding of Grace and Elliott. Extra congratulations on the safe arrival of their baby boy.

Sarah and Darren married at on a beautifully sunny day in St. Philip & St. James Church, York. They chose a vibrant park for some extra special wedding photographs.

The outlook from Raven Hall was amazing in late July as the sea shimmered and reflected back the happiness that Janet and Jason were experiencing. We loved the rampart photographs.

August was another fabulous month for sunny days and spectacular wedding photographs.

On a lovely Sunday Kathryn and James married at Dimple Well Lodge Hotel in Ossett. This Victorian house provided a warm, welcoming feeling and the guests relaxed in comfort.

The Royal Hotel in Scarborough played host to the wedding of Emily and Steve. The breath-taking sea views and elegance of the Regency period provided a truly wonderful backdrop.

Gemma and Anthony celebrated their wedding in the Church of All Saints in Hunmanby and was made extra special as the Groom’s sister was the Vicar for this wedding service.

Cottingham was our next location for wedding photographs. Emma and Ryan exchanged their vows at the Lazaat Hotel.

Late August returned us to Grinkle Park, a beautifully appointed house on the Yorkshire Moors, for the wedding of Becca and Matt.

The glorious sunny weather continued and at times posed some tricky moments for us as wedding photographers.

A fabulously sunny wedding day for Bex and Glenn as they posed with friends and family at St. Mary’s Church, Scarborough and then we managed to sneak away for some picturesque photographs with Scarborough Castle in the background.

Pontefract was our next location. Samantha and Darren chose The King’s Croft to host their wedding, complete with glass gazebo which added an understated elegance to the proceedings.

Another busy month and the weather began to change. But the good times kept on coming!

Despite the rain, Sarah and Mark exchanged their wedding vows at The Gardners Country Inn, Conniston. Sarah arrived in a truck which captured everyone’s notice.

Debbie and Gary tied the knot at Hackness Grange, North Yorkshire. This event was made even more special by the unusual choice of bridesmaid!

The weather was wonderfully windy for Nicola and Carl as they made their wedding vows at Walworth Castle. This 12th century castle and open countryside views are the things of fairytales.

The final wedding of the month was less traditional. The bride and groom described it as a chilled out, relaxed affair. This bride and groom, Natasha and Dominic, chose to marry at the Civic Hall and the go on to The Assembly Rooms in Leeds.

Finally the nights seemed to grow darker. Now for some brides and grooms this was a concern as they worried about loosing wedding photo opportunities. However, this is a time of year that we love. Night time wedding shoots are so much fun and there’s so much that you can do to create magical wedding photographs.

Sylvia and James chose the beautifully restored Dunedin Country House to make their commitment to each other. The old world charm mixed with up to date decor offers a beautiful backdrop.

Another lovely sunny wedding day. This has been an amazing year. Becky and Elliot married at Ox Pasture Hall in front of their family and friends. This was followed by a trip outside to celebrate with their much loved dog.

Carla and Edward married at Ox Pasture Hall and surprised their wedding guests with singing waiters. This was a fabulous experience to witness.

Dunedin Country House was the wedding location of choice for Victoria and Bethany. They braved a slightly chilly night in order to gain some magical wedding photos and memories.

The Stone Trough Inn at Kirkham Abbey was our last location for this year. Laura and Joe exchanged their wedding vows in this recognised area of outstanding natural beauty.
